Applying for a Companies House Account
To use digital filing to Companies House you will need:
- Presenter ID & Presenter Authentication Code
- A Credit Account with Companies House
In addition, to file mortgage forms, you will need:
- Lender Authentication Code
Companies House will place a credit limit on your account, usually £500 per month as a default. Speak to the customer care team at Companies House if you need to increase your limit.
If you already use Companies House Web Filing you may already have all of the details above, in which case you will not need a separate account; you can simply enter them into the Legal Forms Settings page.
If you are missing any of the information above, you will need to complete and return the following form:
https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/360083/lenderacc.pdf
The Lender Authentication Code, despite its name, can be supplied to anyone wanting to file mortgage forms at Companies House, whether acting for the company or the lender. The lender code is entered into the Settings in Legal Forms (only Admin users have access to the Settings). This code takes the place of a Company Authentication Code which is needed to file other form types on behalf of the company.
