ℹ️ AP1 Form Changes from 1 November 2026
Updated
by Sally Robinson
Overview
Key Dates
📅 31 October 2026 is the last day you can create a new AP1 application using the current form.
📅 From 1 November 2026, all new AP1 applications must be created using the updated AP1 form.
Applications already in progress
You can continue to complete and submit these applications using the current AP1 form.
Only new applications created on or after 1 November 2026 will use the updated form.
Why is the AP1 form changing?
These changes are being made to align with HM Land Registry's updated submission requirements and are intended to help reduce the number of requisitions and rejected applications.
The updated form includes additional validation and mandatory document checks for applicable application types. This helps identify missing information and supporting documents before submission.
From January 2026 to March 2026, IQ Legals requisition rate was 63.3%.

Most of these requisitions are for Charge and Transfer:

What should I expect?
The updated AP1 form will:
- Perform additional validation during completion
- Require mandatory supporting documents for relevant application types
- Provide clearer guidance where information is missing or incomplete
- Help identify common issues before submission
Most validation is handled within the application. However, HM Land Registry may still return errors or raise requisitions if the information provided does not meet their requirements or differs from their records.
What do I need to do?
If you plan to submit a new AP1 application after 1 November 2026, you will be automatically directed to the updated AP1 form.
